I yearn to be so respectful of the moment that I do not let my thought be wasted one second.
Of course I fail often….and yet that is my life practice… to have so aligned with what is the Christ essence.
When I catch myself dwelling upon that which may startle me or prove so very overwhelming…and usually this is when my thoughts have slipped and evil personalities, behaviors, or actions seem so threatening, in those moments when I am anxious or afraid, it’s ever the goal to pause the tsunami of spiraling thoughts going nowhere and sometimes beginning to dwell….and strive to let divine Love take the reigns…
What helps me halt all spiraling:
“Tre what are you thinking right now and what are you believing is happening?”
As I’ve thought about how to wish everyone an Happy New now moment, I wanted to offer here a prayer that’s helped me time and again shift thought and defend what inspires and this has led to healing.
Now I will add it’s not my intention to tell you how to think. Nor is it my goal to convince you this could work for you bc it works for me. I trust everyone to their own sense of right… yet I also feel so convinced these timeless words deserve to be known by everyone who’s ever prayed the Lord’s Prayer day and night.
in that spirit I share with you and as always if anything I pen nudges you to connect please do.
A spontaneous poem penned from my heart with yours…
“Thy kingdom is come, Thou art ever present…” (Science and Health pg. 16: – pg. 17: )
A line I’ve lived with since a young girl
The spiritual interpretation of the first line of The Lord’s Prayer
Penned by my fave author Mary Baker Eddy
To emphasize not just what but how when and where Thy Kingdom is happening
Over the years I’ve found this simple sentence such a ‘go to’
Whenever I”m caught in the midst of fear
If thoughts are spiraling over “Oh what now shall I do?”
Or when I read a devastating headline
Or when something tragic happens to a loved one or even a nation in thought ever nearby
I have turned time and again to this simple statement over and over
For it is a declarative of what is happening now and always
Though — to mortal sense– we do not always know it
Why has this simple yet profound truth held such meaning for me?
For it’s launched me into the spiritual depths of what is and what truly can be...
As I lean on that sense of a “thou” that is everpresent
As I stand on this knowing that that thou’s kingdom is WHAT IS…
Then the apparent hell of the current tough situation or news I’m able to rally from a sense of panic, get calm and still in my thinking… and there and then advocate this Truth.
And it doesn’t mean my knowing of this truth will immediate cause an end to that war
And it doesn’t mean my knowing of that truth will immediately comfort the one who is broken hearted and crying over the phone…
But it does mean that an advocacy…an influence…is standing for what IS….
And this heals my thought immediately for sure and then does have– I have come to see and trust– a healing impact.
So as I”ve thought what gift can I give my loved ones near and far and all of humanity for this New Year’s 2024?
I truly have wanted to share worldwide this truth in hopes it could offer comfort and healing support….
And then just earlier today when I was pulled over the side of the road and I turned in my favorite book to where in 1875 these words were first penned, I saw them in their entirety and thought “Oh but of course!”
“Tre, dont just share the one line but give the whole prayer and its interpretation for this new year wish…”
I offer the below as a what has helped me
In hopes it can comfort you…whereever this finds you and bring some light warmth and healing….
For I get it….the problem you’re facing is gonna feel like it’s overwhelming….
Here we are into the 5th day of the new year and maybe your goals havent even started…
Or maybe some news has just revealed itself and you’re sent over the edge
Or maybe a loved one just passed or you’ve become at odds with a relative or friend….
And maybe you still can’t bring yourself to watch the news for all the despair of the headlines and you just want your now filled with good…..
I hope you will find a hug in these words….
I have….for several years….like I said since I was a young girl…..
They’ve scooped me up and rocked me and brushed back my bangs….
They’ve kissed my cheeks and held me close and looked into my soul again and again….
They’ve reminded me what courage is and where my thought simply must hike toward
And they’ve cradled me in assurance that THOU is governing our beloved precious world.
Dear friend reading….I truly do wish you a now new….but I so hope you’re accept this gift of a prayer to be an anchor, comfort and foundation for your thinking all the year through.
With so much gratitude for your conscious endeavor to be sure what’s governing your thinking and with tender hope and love for a new year of healing and thriving….
Tre ~
Our Father which art in heaven,
Our Father-Mother God, all-harmonious
Hallowed by thy name.
Adorable One.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy kingdom is come; Thou art ever-present.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Enable us to know,-as in heaven, so on earth, -God is omnipotent, supreme.
Give us this day our daily bread;
Give us grace for today; feed the famished affections;
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
And Love is reflected in love;
And lead us not into temption, but deliver us from evil;
And God leadeth us not into temptation, but delivereth us from sin, disease, and death.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
For God is infinite, all power, all Life, Truth, Love, over all, and All.
~ Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health pgs. 16-17).
Hello dear Trish: I loved your post! Wishing you a happy new moment every day of the year! I had a recent related inspiration that thrilled me. I’m not sure I have totally grasped it; but it meant so much to me. It felt like an angel message. I woke up with Mrs. Eddy’s Daily Prayer in my thought – specifically “Thy Kingdom Come…” I then jumped to her interpretation “The Kingdom IS COME THOU ARE EVER PRESENT…” Then I thought of Jesus saying “The kingdom of heaven is within you.” I thought how can that be? Then thought, the kingdom of heaven is within me because I am within it! The Kingdom of heaven is everywhere!!!! I also started singing hymn 221. The whole hymn is so uplifting but the most relevant to this inspiration was “”Thy kingdom within us, shows forth Love’s sweet control. God’s idea, man, rejoices, he knows the reign of Soul.” That’s what your lovely post is doing: knowing the reign of Soul. How wonderful! Sending love and hugs….
