Hello sweet friend….

Thank you for being here, for sharing a few moments to come gather. It’s been such a sweet sharing thus far…

Just to recap, we’ve really savored a bounty together so far, haven’t we? We’ve committed our hearts to:

being gentle, being grounded, being comfort, being in charge, and even being expectant of good.

That’s surely a lot of ways to stretch our thoughts and nurture our now, isn’t it? πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Feel me hugging you hugely for loving yourself enough to invest thought this way? Go you, go us! Whee!:)

And whoosh! And yippy skippy! And tra la la la la! I mean really!

Yet, while it’s a wondrous endeavor, it can be a wee bit exhausting if we think we have to master using the keepsakes all at once.

Well, the good news: we don’t. Being these keepsakes is a journey…and none of us have to do this all at once or even master it over one week let alone one month.

Keepsakes have that way of becoming more and more valuable as we cherish them and evolve how we choose to use them.

I’m not sure I emphasized that enough at the get go.

So in the spirit offering tonight’s keepsake, this is me hugging you for being here and wanting to pause and ponder and listen. And gently nudging that these elements of thought you already have πŸ™‚ and always know really what all they mean. We’re simply embracing how readily available they are to own and be…

* If this is your first visit, we open a new keepsake each evening, sift it’s meaning and think together about how living it nurtures our now.

You can open your very own of the first 5 Keepsakes too! Scootch below this post and help yourself. πŸ˜‰

Ready our space and thought:

I wish I could peak in and see through the windows how you’re cozying up.

I have a cuppa earl gray decaf tea and I’m sitting atop a buncha comfy large pillows.

I’ve lit two candles and am ready to share the love:)…So let’s open open open. :0)

Keepsake #6: Be Calm

Ahhh. Deep love of this one.

Calm is a state of thought that just simply…is.

It’s still.

It’s quiet.

It’s…now.

It’s a deep tender knowing and also a bit of trusting that all is well and all will be well.

Meaning and Visuals:

Calm defined meansΒ  “without rough motion; still or nearly still; not windy or stormy: a calm day; free from excitement or passion; tranquil.”

When I visualize calm I think of the surface of a body of water, as a lake or pond, or ocean, when there’s scarcely a hint of wind.

I think of the lightness of a first fallen snow.

I think of the sound of Berkeley, my pup, when he’s breathing while asleep.

I think of the first few moments when I awaken in the morning.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why Being Calm helps me mommy my heart:
Being calm nudges me to steer my thoughts and control the pulls to either extremes of being anxious or concerned.
Being calm…trusts.
Being calm…stands.
Being calm…knows.
Being calm simply…is.
Being calm doesn’t react.
Being calm doesn’t whig out.
Being calm doesn’t yell, scream, or yank or pull or shout or lash out in any way in our thoughts.
Being calm breathes, sees, trusts, knows.
Being calm is the easiest thing in the world to do. (hee hee hee). πŸ™‚
Truth? I’ve got a long way to go before I can say I’m calm 24/7, but I make it a focus almost every few moments. I check in with thoughts and sense out if I’m calm.
Being calm has a way of being a shield to the counter pulls of fear, doubt, or worry. And I feel hugged when I’m calm.
How you can take this keepsake with you and practice “being calm”:
Calm is taking a deep breath and sitting still.
Calm is a long hot bath
Calm is remaining undisturbed in thought.
Calm is a warm cup of tea.
Calm is a stillness and a knowing and a trusting and a being.
So. . . how can you practice this keepsake right now?
Well, ask yourself if you can see in your now moments a way to pause thoughts and insist on getting still.
Sometimes we think “impossible” or “no way I can do that til the whole house is asleep.”
Well, it’s not mine tonight to defend your right for calm from the moment you arise (though I would if we were talking on the phone).
And it’s not my intention to put another ‘thing’ on you for you to go and ‘do.’
But what I will give you with this keepsake is a nudge: start checking your thoughts. Right now. Tonight. Sift them and see if you feel calm.
And if you don’t, try. Try simply to still your thoughts and feel calm.
Even if you’re reading this thinking “no way,” just try.
Take a few deep breaths and steer thoughts to a gentle landing pad. And land them. And get still.
Yes, it’s quite okay to nudge yourself to land that thought plane. πŸ™‚
**Happy to work with you more directly if you have a yearning for understanding how to be calm more naturally, more regularly, day to day.
Well, there you go. The 6th Keepsake is yours to tuck up and savor and use.
Here’s to striving to be calm. And as we do, feeling how adored and safe and loved we really are.
Til the next keepsake, big warm hugs to you….
Tre ~
