Feeling at home

Hey…it’s been a few weeks. Goodness …I haven’t posted since the election. I’ve been moving..mentally and otherwise. Not an excuse. Just a matter of fact. But in the process….I’ve gleaned a few things worth sharing…

I’m beginning to see even more than before that home is a state of consciousness–and a state of being…pretty much synonymous for dwelling in a mental space that is willing to love and outpour compassion, tenderness, patience, and forgiveness…and also willing to defend and honour one’s innate worth. Home is a state of comprehending oneness to Spirit..a forever consciousness that love is not ‘out there’ somewhere floating around waiting to be obtained but accessible and available this moment through simply defending and claiming your right to exude it, be it, live it.

Home is the awareness that no moment matters except this present one…that there’s no past piling up, layer upon layer of a sense of mistakes or wrongdoings done to you…that you and I dwell this very moment at the standpoint of being loveable and loving and are right now worthy of a manifold of blessings…simply because we are….that you and I are not waiting to be rewarded or waiting to have goodness showered upon us some distant some day contingent upon x, y, z occuring.

Home is a steady awareness that there is a surrounding presence of constant care and support sustaining each one of us and tangible to thought by defending the evidence of goodness that envelopes us all. I don’t care if you’re living out of your car, living on the street, figuring out survival mode hour to hour, there is a constant source of supply of goodness and it’s simply a matter of demanding it and insisting upon your right to it that allows you to experience it on any level. And it’s the willingness to claim this goodness whether it’s your recognition of the beams of light at dawn or the little birds chirping and singing aloud in the frigid weather or a cup of tea offered by someone you just happened to meet or a cozy nook you find to rest your head in.

Home is how you define it. But you dwell there. And I dwell there and it has nothing to do with four walls and heat and a bed and fresh towels and linens….surely these are types of expressions of home. But they’re not requirements. The only requirement for you to feel at home is to understand that it is a consciousness of your inseparability to the divine. And because of that fact, you have this very moment every right to feel peace instead of angst, to feel loved instead of shunned, unwanted or abused or neglected, to justify your right to safety instead of dwelling where surrounding influences may take advantage of you or neglect you.

No matter how mobile or steady your now is, you are at home. Everyone is. Claim this and defend this for yourself. ….for all. No one is ever outside of love’s care…ever.
