Election Day 2008

Today is historic as none other we’ve known.

For months now I’ve felt the pulls and pangs of wanting to see change, wanting people to feel a sense of hope, wanting all to have the perspective of stability, peace, and confidence in their lives….

What’s helping much during today is to focus my thoughts on the following passage that reigns true, no matter who is elected, though this matters much as well.

In her seminal work, Science and Health, Mary Baker Eddy affirms:

One infinite God, good, unifies men and nations; constitutes the brotherhood of man; ends wars; fulfils the Scripture, “Love thy neighbor as thyself;” annihilates pagan and Christian idolatry,–whatever is wrong in social, civil, criminal, political, and religious codes; equalizes the sexes; annuls the curse on man, and leaves nothing that can sin, suffer, be punished or destroyed.

I’ve pondered this passage much in the past several months. The more I affirm the government of an ever operative divine Principle in my life and in everyone’s, the less I feel frantic or nervous about the now times or the future and the more I feel a sense of calm about necessary changes and shifts in all of our systems that must occur.

I imagine a world without borders…but until we’re there, I’m grateful to ponder no borders in thought, each and all cared for by ‘one infinite God good” and an evolving brotherhood of man.

I wish you well on your journey voting today…may it be calm, assured, determined and full of hope.

Much joy and peace…..Tre 🙂
