Surrounds us
So we think
Words spoken
Often hurt and condemn
Year after year believing them
We can find ourselves enveloped by all that condemns
And maybe we walk amidst a mental cloud
Of constant shaming and self loathing so loud
Til one day another view occurs
That of spirituality and realizing I am Gods daughter
And this view doesn’t amass my worth
By salary
Status
Or to whom I was birthed
Or by college degree
Or where I’m from
Or whether I am married
Or mommy a little one
This view sees me whole and complete
A reflection through and through
An expression of the Life that is
An embodiment of Spirit too…
And this spiritual fact
Fuels me and gives me deep grounding
Knowing I am forever safe and held
Not needing editing
Created spiritually perfect and unique
And able to love and be free
From all the shackles of mortal limits
And from all the measuring of worth materially
And we begin gently to counter the condemning
Each moment we hear it lure
And suggestions of “I’m such a mess”
We counteract with truths of “Love is sourcing me for sure”
And little by little we counter the onslaught
And it seems the work will go in and on
And hour by hour we insist in refuting the inner damning
And gradually we begin to feel we’ve not been created wrong….
And months go by and then eventually years…
And we awake one day to realize we’ve been free so long we are moved to tears
Of self loathing and all the I am such a mess
And we yearn to help others heal from the prison of self hatred
And so we do what we do:
We pray and poem
We help a new patient or two
And months go by and still we know there’s more we can do…
And we decide to open the discussion up and see how far we can go…
So friend reading have you ever felt stuck
In self loathing and all the ways you believe you’re a mistake
Or a mess
Or a disgrace
Or a loser
Or a victim
I would love to hear from you and help you see through another lens…
