A little friend named ‘Wait ‘n See’

I have a little friend

She calls herself ‘Wait and See’

She loves to watch others live and be

She ponders often and much ‘perhaps this!

Or maybe, yes! that too might feel like bliss…

And then! there’s that and that some more….”

And on she goes finding something in others’ journey to adore

The pickle I nudged her think about though

Sounded kinda a bit like so…

“Hello my sweetheart friend ‘Wait and See’

Up to much oohing and ahhing again, I notice you be…

Wondering if you’ve considered what you’ll offer as yours

To own and hold and smile about within

that others may even take notice or perhaps even grin….”

With that she looked shocked and sourly confused

‘But its my job to ponder and pontificate and wonder about possibilities

Surely that is where I am most amused…!

I find it odd that you’re asking me what am I creating

Don’t you see?

I don’t really know how or if I’m allowed or maybe

That’s why I’m named Wait ‘n See’

Yet, I’m convinced ‘someday when’ something will occur

That will find me nodding like I’m sure

But I’ll have to check the next day too

And the one after that as well

And gaze out and wonder if anything will ring a bell’

And off she fluttered to gaze some more

And I was left with something deeper I am sure…

For to me all that thought she consciously devotes

To ‘waiting and seeing’ has become her routine, and rather rote

I will hope for her to hear that little nudge within

That allows her to  actually try something and begin

And maybe one day she’ll meet my other friend named ‘Now’

She’s surely a hoot and a half, her insistence on the possibility of the moment has left me in utter wow.

But then too perhaps its not mine to twine them together

I’ve surely learned much from one but I’m having fun getting to know now, the other…

little…friend….
