Motherhood…
That sense of actualized love…
~ sees and senses a need, no matter how great or small.
~ responds to that need.
~ that tenderly cares for and nurtures its own and then some.
~ that does whatever it takes to ensure those being cared for are fully and finally sustained, stabilized and supplied.
~ that stops at nothing to guarantee protection, sustainance, warmth, and security.
~ that endures it’s love and so ensure the prosperity of the one or ones being cared for.
In ways, there’s no greater moment for the world to feel a constant sense of mothering.
Surely, the past few months have seen human tragedy at intense levels.
Many nations are recovering from natural disasters.
Others are caught amidst the ongoing strife of civil warfare.
Still others wrestle the ethical stance of promoting peace.
And others still battle the rage of ongoing poverty and inhumane suffering.
Day in and day out those of us who are not facing survival struggles are nudged to press on…with what we believe in, with what we yearn to give as our lives’ story, with how we see right life and true way of being.
And every now and again, the love that is motherhood…that sees a need and emphatically chooses to respond and to stop at nothing until that need is met– grabs hold of hearts and enables the unthinkable and unresolvable to not only be thought out but even resolved.
If there’s one constancy in the ever ongoing world of change, to me it is that sense of motherhood that loves because it is what Love does.
And this Mother’s Day, Epic Change – an organization which amplifies the stories of those efforts which attempt to resolve the unresolvable -– is hosting it’s “To Mama With Love” campaign for the second year to honor four women whose mothering of is making an incredible impact in the lives of children of their communities and thus our world.
